Satu ≠ Padu Collaborative & Rolling Wild
The Beyond Narathiwat Super 8 Film Workshop is a collaborative investigation of Narathiwat Province via human engagement, with words and exchange as part of the process of making the "dialogue" of the city. This dialogue is presented through the site of experimental film making as mobile images that bear witness to the lives of people in Narathiwat and neighboring provinces. The project tells the story of Narathiwat through the eyes of documentary filmmakers, toasting "the riches in the soil"—a metaphor for the land and natural resources of the province—discovered together through shared discovery. Using the Super 8mm film process of the Rolling Wild collective, the workshop renders images into an alchemy medium, much like "home movies." Super 8, a low-gauge movie medium, was originally used in home film making in the mid-1960s. In this workshop, students will become familiar with the process of hand-processing film, the basics of editing and screening film, and the materiality of celluloid. Nine southern Thai artists selected from an open call will take part in this program.
About Satu ≠ Padu Collaborative
Satu ≠ Padu Collaborative was formed in 2021. Satu ≠ Padu Collaborative is committed to working with different groups of people for each of its exhibitions. Its projects are focused on showcasing works that are a product of community engagement, actions, and human interaction. The collective explores diversity in areas of history, myths, and legends, an enthusiasm for installations, moving images, and sound—documentary video, cooking rituals, and collaborative sewing. Its productions involve Bangkok Art Biennale 2022 participation.
About Rolling Wild
Rolling Wild is a Super 8 and 16mm hand-processing film lab and service provider. It was started in 2014 with DIY machinery made from home-found materials in Soi Moh Leng, cross-experimenting and learning from filmmakers and artists. The laboratory is currently based at Tha Ruea Market in Kanchanaburi where it also has experimental live performances and community screenings of films under the Analog Live title. Besides creating workshops of Super 8 and 16mm, their projects include an exhibition named Soon to Be Forgotten (2024) and Archival Time on Our Retina (2025), in collaboration with the Thai Film Archive.
Beyond Natathiwat Super 8 Film Workshop เป็นการร่วมสำรวจพื้นที่จังหวัดนราธิวาสไปด้วยกันจากการปฏิสัมพันธ์ของผู้คน การแลกเปลี่ยนพูดคุยจึงเป็นประเด็นที่สำคัญให้เกิด “บทสนทนา” ของเมืองโดยนำเสนอผ่านมุมมองของการปฏิบัติการทำหนังทดลอง ซึ่งเป็นดั่งภาพเคลื่อนไหวที่สะท้อน ตัวตนของผู้คนในจังหวัดนราธิวาส และจังหวัดใกล้เคียง มาบอกเล่าเรื่องราวของจังหวัดนราธิวาสผ่านมุมมองและสายตาของนักทำหนังสารคดีที่พูดถึงสินทรัพย์ในดิน ที่หมายถึง สภาพแวดล้อมทรัพยากรทางธรรมชาติในจังหวัดนราธิวาสที่ยังคงอยู่ผ่านการสืบค้นตามรอยไปร่วมกัน โดยใช้กระบวนการทางเทคนิคการถ่ายภาพเคลื่อนไหวด้วยฟิล์ม 8 มม. จากกลุ่ม Rolling Wild จึงเปรียบดั่งการเล่นแร่แปรธาตุของภาพ ในลักษณะภาพบันทึก “โฮมมูฟวี่” ซึ่ง Super 8 เป็นฟิล์มภาพยนตร์ขนาดเล็กเพื่อใช้ถ่ายหนังประจำบ้านหรือ “ในช่วงกลางยุค 1960 ที่ในครั้งนี้ทุกคนที่เข้าร่วม จะผ่านการล้างฟิล์มด้วยมือ (hand-processing) รวมถึงได้เรียนรู้เบื้องต้นเกี่ยวกับการตัดต่อฟิล์ม และการฉายหนังด้วยฟิล์ม โดยมี ศิลปิน 9 ท่านจากการเปิดรับสมัครผู้สนใจที่อาศัยอยู่ในภาคใต้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้

ซาตู ≠ ปาดู คอลลาบอเรทีฟ ก่อตั้งเมื่อ 2564 โดยให้ความสนใจในการทำงานร่วมกับกลุ่มคนที่แตกต่างออกไป ในแต่ละนิทรรศการ ที่มุ่งไปที่ประเด็นในการนำเสนอผลงานจากการมีส่วนร่วมของผู้คนผ่านการจัดกิจกรรม และการปฏิสัมพันธ์ร่วมกันของผู้คนในชุมชน โดยมุ่งเน้นศึกษาถึงความหลากหลายของผู้คนผ่านเส้นทางของประวัติศาสตร์ ตำนาน เรื่องเล่า โดยให้ความสนใจกับ ผลงานจัดวาง ภาพเคลื่อนไหว และ เสียง ผ่านวิดีโอสารคดี การประกอบอาหาร และการเย็บผ้าร่วมกัน ผลงานอื่นๆ เช่น จัดแสดงผลงานในเทศกาล Bangkok Art Biennale 2022
เกี่ยวกับ Rolling Wild
แล็บล้างฟิล์มภาพยนตร์ด้วยมือ และผู้ให้บริการเกี่ยวกับฟิล์ม ซูเปอร์ 8 และ 16 มม. ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี 2557 เริ่มต้นโดย ดัดแปลงอุปกรณ์แบบ DIY จากของที่หาได้ในบ้านในซอย หมอเหล็ง เรียนรู้จากประสบการณ์ในการร่วมงานกับคนทำหนังและ ศิลปิน ปัจจุบันย้ายแล็บไปที่ตลาดท่าเรือ กาญจนบุรี และได้จัดงาน แสดงสดเชิงทดลองและการฉายฟิล์มภาพยนตร์ในชุมชนในชื่อ Analog Live นอกจากการจัดเวิร์กช็อปฟิล์มซูเปอร์ 8 และ 16 มม. ผลงานอื่นๆ เช่น นิทรรศการ Soon to Be Forgotten (2567) และ Archival Time on Our Retina (2568) ซึ่งเป็นการร่วมงานกับ หอภาพยนตร์ฯ
