Prach Pimarnman (b. 1987, Thailand) is a multi-disciplinary visual artist, curator, and academic based in Southern Thailand. Holding a Ph.D. in Visual Arts from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University, Pimarnman’s practice navigates the delicate threshold between cultural identity, found materials, and contemporary technological frameworks. His work extensively investigates layered geopolitical narratives, local myths, and collective memories within the Patani region, constructing crucial creative dialogues that bridge provincial realities with international contemporary discourse.

Pimarnman’s artistic and academic journey began in Pattani, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts in 2009. He later expanded his practice into wood sculpture and completed a short-term residency and exhibition at The Art Students League of New York in 2012. He subsequently earned both his Master’s degree and Ph.D. from Silpakorn University in 2022. Driven by a commitment to regional creative ecosystems, he actively functions as a cultural instigator, establishing De' Lapae Art Space Narathiwat in 2013 and founding the Satu ≠ Padu Collaborative in 2021. Currently, he balancing his studio practice with roles as an art educator, lecturer, and Assisant Dean for Student Development.

Deeply invested in community movements and the Melayu historical route, Pimarnman’s methodology relies on extensive field exploration to recontextualize historical archives, migration patterns, and individual trauma. His works frequently integrate found objects and community-sourced waste materials to critique social realities and construct fictional representations of safe spaces. This conceptual framework is evident across his major exhibitions and moving image projects, including The Memories of Individual Memories (2026), In The Wake of The Earth at ART SG (2026), the documentary film No Sand No Sea (2025), and critically acclaimed exhibitions curated by Penwadee Nophaket Manont, such as the "FROZEN" (Saen Saep) at SAC Gallery (2024) and ORANG SIYAE / OGHAE NAYU at Art4C (2021).

 A R T I S T I C   S T A G E M E N T

"My creative practice navigates the complex social fabric and layered structures of the Patani region. By engaging with found objects and raw, community-driven archives, I focus deeply on the poetics of the mundane, deliberately celebrating imperfection over polished resolution. My work serves as an ongoing investigation into how overlooked fragments of everyday reality can be preserved, recontextualized, and transmitted through contemporary visual systems. Furthermore, my practice critically examines the dynamics of human migration, the restrictive borders of modern states, and the historical overland and maritime trade routes that carried these dispersed memories across diverse territories. Through this, I seek to unearth the nuanced spaces of human nature and resilience embedded within the threshold of ordinary, everyday existence."
